Question: After one has recited mimkomcha on Shabbos in kedusha, and the chazzan sings it afterwards with a niggun, is one permitted to sing along and recite the words (therefore repeating the words)?
Answer: Although it is difficult to find a source for such a question, it appears that this is permitted and it is not a hefsek in chazoras hashatz since one is merely reciting the tefilla a second time, but not interrupting with other words (which are considered a hefsek).
(See also Badei Moshe Orach Chayim Siman 4) who discusses at length the if it is permissible to continue to daven (shemone esreh) while the chazan is singing mimkomcha and concludes that although according to the letter of the law it is permitted to daven at this juncture, according to the Maharil and others one should not be mafsik even with tefilla during the entire kedusha – including mimkomcha.)
